One Month Have Passed

I started my classes in BUET on 26 February. That means I have already spent a month there in the dream of being an architect.

Previously I have told that I had no interest in architecture. Even I have never dreamt of reading  architecture before. All I wanted to be an engineer. But life is not a bed of roses and I have realized it very well after the admission tests in different universities.

Now my aim has changed. I started a new type of life in BUET specially in architecture. It is just a dream like place where everyone is not the member of this materialistic earth. They live in a fantasy world more than in reality. Our teachers are very amazing although they really do not behave like ‘Teacher’.

I have now 55 new friends in my class. Most of them are ‘new’ and a few of them are familiar to me as we belonged to same school and college. But here we have discovered something new among our friendship as we discuss , work together or chat in most of the time.

Within one month, I have visited Karjon Hall( I have never visited it so closely), Sohrawardi Park, Lalbag Fort, Ahsan Manzil with my friends and I have enjoyed most of the journeys. It is very interesting to roam around with 55 students or in a small groups. People everywhere help us and give us a special concentration as we are from BUET. I really enjoy this.

The name of our batch is selected as DIMIK which means ‘binary’. We have selected it as we are ’10 batch. Let’s see what will happen in DIMIK in future.

‘KHOJ The Search’ and the followings

Last year, I saw a post on Cadet College Blog (CCB). The post was about a bangla movie named ‘KHOJ The Search’. Once I have watched the movie trailer on youtube and considered it to be an outstanding movie. But reading the post, I realized that it would be one of the most bogus movies in the history of bangla cinema.

A few days ago, I received a link for free downloading the movie. I downloaded the whole movie and became very excited I watched movie at once.

Firstly I must say that it is a movie without a story. I haven’t understand what they, I mean Abdul Jalil Anonto (the hero) wanted to say or explain. The villain Nino was very funny of course though I haven’t understand why he came Bangladesh and stayed in a small room for months long. Another villain Shamsuddin Nawab was the funniest among them. Still now I haven’t figured out why he used face power, rose powder and lipstick in his face all the time.

There are lots of review of this movie that can be found in the web. So I am not writing another one. The main thing is M.A. Jalil Anonto is not passing his time idle. His new movies are Hridoy Vanga Dheu, SPEED Do or Die and Most Wellcome. Interested person can come to the gate of Abahoni Field at Dhanmondi. Here a huge billboard is advertising his new movies.

‘KHOJ The Search’ is an entertaining funny movie if a viewer does not try to find out the events and what is happening gradually. I hope the rest of the three movies will also be funny and entertaining for us. It is a good point that Dhaliwood has found a new hero except Shakib Khan (though the new hero needs some pronunciation course in both bangla and english….. and he also needs some exercise for building a muscular body).

Bollywood Stars Are Coming!!

What is going on earth! Artists from India are coming to perform various celebrity show on the occasion of WCC in Bangladesh!!

Today’s daily Prothom Alo has published the article that contains the news. It says that almost 200 stars including Salman Khan, Aksay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Nigum, Shaan etc will perform in the event named BIG SHOW before and after the night of opening ceremony in our country. The arranger named ATN Event has already paid advance to some of them. What a vague idea it is!

President of BCB is well known about the matter. He confessed straightly that the event of 18 February would only be performed by Indian stars. He also added that our local artists always performed and the opposition against Indian stars was of no matter. What a dialogue!

I am totally amazed with this news. I don’t know why we need artists from other countries. Do we lack quality singers? Or cultural persons? Is it very important to let the whole world know that we can dance with the hindi songs like ‘Munni Bodnam’? I doubt whether India herself arranged such kind of cultural function before Commonwealth Games.

On the occasion of WCC, lots of foreigner will come to our country. All they know about Bangladesh that it is a poor and half drawn country. When they will watch that events performed by Indian dancers, they will also know that it is also a country without having it’s own culture as it borrows foreign artists for performing such an glorious occasion. Horrible, isn’t it?

Yes, I must say that India is also a co-arranger of WCC. But it is true that we are going to hold the opening ceremony. So it is obvious that we should have some extra advantages. Why will we give that chance to other country? What would happen if India arranged the opening ceremony? Would we given the same facilities that we are giving India today?

I don’t know what to do or what to say. But I must hope that our high officials will at least do something against this horrible situation.

The Blue Guy

Firstly I must say that it is an amazing movie. I am talking about MEGAMIND.

The little blue alien with a talking fish came to this earth from a planet when it was at the moment of destruction (just like superman!). On his way in the space’ he met a white, fluffy baby who chattered him. The white baby landed in aristocratic house while the blue one landed among the prisoners of a jail. These two children were admitted into the same school where the blue made some mistakes and the white saved the people from those mistakes and became a little hero. This situation helped them to take decisions what they wanted to be in future. With their super natural power, the white became  a hero named METROMAN and the blue eventually became a villain named MEGAMIND.

Being strong and powerful, Metroman became the hope, icon and idol of the Metro City who protected the city from all the evil works of Megamind. But unfortunately Megamind was once able to destroy the hero. After that, everything was upside down. The evil reigned and the good was lost. This made Megamind bored as he was a villain without a hero, without an opponent. Suddenly Roxenne Richi, a reporter unconsciously gave him the idea of making a new super hero with all the features of Metroman. And again, unfortunately, Hal, the cameraman who worked with Roxenne, became his target. But Megamind’s plan was not successful at all. Hal or TITAN, whom he wanted to make a hero, became a worse villain than he. He and Roxenne were able to find out Metroman, who was not dead at all, but was retired from his heroic job and turned into MUSICMAN!! Here comes the greatest twist in front of the audience, in this crucial moment, Megamind decided to change his side form villain to hero!!! He, however, with his tricks, managed to make Titan turned into Hal again. Thus the day was saved by a new blue hero of Metro City named MEGAMIND!!!

I think is the one and only story of a super villain, turned into a super hero. The scenes, the graphics, the music, the dialogues were awesome!!! It was really a Dreamwork’s wonderful work.

THE GREAT HESITATION!

My college life has over. I have passed HSC exam with golden A+. I know that thing has become an old news. And I am not too much excited as I had done before. Because the result is not now the main matter to concern about. I am fearing about getting admission into a university.

I wanted to be a computer engineer but my fortune has not favored me at all. So I was not able to get admission in BUET. Then I tried for NSU after much trouble and there I succeeded . But one problem remained. It was Architecture in BUET. Now I am in the waiting list of that subject.

This two options make me quite restless. I don’t know where to go or what to prefer first. Now I am in a great hesitation about choosing my profession between this two. What will be suitable for me, either Architecture or CSE?
